The American League record was broken at 21, but the Indians didn’t stop there. With Josh Tomlin on the mound, the Tribe was ready to take it to 22. Tomlin pitched five and two-third innings and only allowed two runs.

Going into the 9th inning, the Cleveland Indians were behind the Royals 2-1. Frankie is no stranger to being at the plate with the weight of the game on his shoulders. His RBI double brought in Erik Gonzalez to tie the game at 2.

Cody Allen started extra innings off for the Tribe in the top of the 10th, allowing only on hit and holding the Royals at 2. 

Jose Ramirez led off the bottom of the 10th for the Tribe with soft liner to center field. He turned on the wheels and safely made it to second base for his 50th of the season. The GOAT went 4 for 4 in Thursday’s game, 

And then there was Jay Bruce. Bruuuuuuce smacked one into the right field corner that brought Ramirez across the plate for a RBI that gave the Indians their 22nd consecutive win. 

The Indians 22nd consecutive win marked an American League record, previously held by the 1935 Chicago Cubs. Unfortunately, the Indians fell short on Friday night with a 4-3 loss to the Royals, their first loss since August 23, 2017.
