Opening Weekend: KC @ CLE

Baseball is Back in Cleveland!

It was cold, but would you expect anything less from The Land? It felt so good to be back at Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio on Friday to kick off baseball season at home for the Cleveland Indians. The Kansas City Royals were in town as the Indians first home game opponent.

If I thought I was cold, these guys were colder. If I had a dollar for every time I heard a player yell, “IT’S COLD,” I’d be swimming in money. As Queen Elsa would say, the cold never bothered us anyway.

The Tribe started their first home stand with a win and some hardware. Francisco Lindor and Jose Ramirez were both awarded their first Silver Slugger awards, and Corey Kluber was awarded his second Cy Young before Friday’s game.

Saturday started off even colder and KC walked away with the W. Sunday set a record for the coldest temperature at first pitch in Progressive Field at 32 degrees. Brrr! Despite the cold weather, Yan’s bat was hot. Yan Gomes sent a pitch over the left field wall to secure the Tribe’s series win in the bottom of the 9th.
