Messy Buns and Curls: Meet Kaitlyn – Class of 2018

Meet Kaitlyn, a 2018 senior from Medina High School! Kaitlyn’s session was so easy going and her natural beauty made my job a piece of cake. I first met Kaitlyn and her family when I photographed her older sister Ashlyn, a 2016 Medina High School graduate. I was so fortunate they chose me again to take Kaitlyn’s senior portraits.

This red barn was everything to me! I wanted to use it for the entire shoot, but we ventured away from it to find a pond and another adorable barn.

Kaitlyn chose to do her session at Plum Creek Park in Brunswick, Ohio. It was the perfect location, offering us open fields, that awesome red barn, a pond and a second barn at the end of a gravel path.

I love shooting through field and weeds, and these wildflowers made it so easy to do so.

Kaitlyn is a girl after my own heart and would rather have her hair up in a bun than down in curls. By the end of the session, I asked her the throw her hair up to what feels the most comfortable and the result was perfect.

At Medina High School, Kaitlyn is a member of the softball team, but on the weekends she loves to catch up on her sleep. She doesn’t know where she wants to go to school after she graduates, but knows she wants to be a journalist. (YAY!) Her favorite song is Black Dog by the one and only Led Zeppelin. In 10 years, Kaitlyn sees herself living in a house in the woods with “kids and a smoking hot hubby.” (Me too, Kaitlyn).
